The day will be divided in two parts:
PART 1
Review Vocabulary (pages 31 and 33 will be completed ...started Tuesday)
I'll pass out Upfront Magazines and Literary Elements and Figure of Speech Worksheets. ALL 3 go in the LITERATURE SECTION OF THE BINDER.
We'll discuss ACTIVE READING of Story of an Hour.

IRONY (your focus when reading)
HOW to look at the story ...discover publication date...time travel (Look at the story from 2012 perspective and the perspective of the audience at the time it was written)
We looked at Foreshadowing and Imagery also
Mrs. Walsh brought PSAT practice books ... Block 2 will get Friday as time ran out due to Mass running into class time
Part 2: Test ... those that miss the test due to absence ... Make up test will be next week. Date and time announced Friday 9-14-12.

1. Vocabulary Quiz Lesson 2 on Friday (multiple choice)
2. Management of Grief (Lit Book Story) - Active read for Monday 9-17-12
3. Vocabulary Story due Monday 9-7-12 (comic topic/website to be given Friday in class)

6. Start reading MAUS ... study guide posted on blog a few days ago ... first assignment due 9-28-12
