Verbs will be covered on FINAL EXAM but WC can be left at HOME till next year!

Monday April 27th

Today we completed Verb WS 11-20 and corrected 1-20...Homework 21-30.

This week we will complete our verb study and will be able to leave Writers Choice at home...till next school year. Verbs WILL be on the final exam.

The final Vocabulary Story was turned in today.

FINAL EXAM STUDY GUIDE

Your Semester 2 Exam will comprise of an essay based on THE TEMPEST in class on Monday June 1st.

On Wednesday June 3rd the Semester Exam will consist of:
100 multiple Choice/Short Answer Questions based on Vocabulary Lessons 13-15, The Tempest, Verbs, and Poetry.
1 Essay based on ALL Novels read through the course of the year.

There is a writing contest in which you must REGISTER...by April 20th.

If you wish to participate in writing a 500 word short story (no specific topic so a vocab story can work) ... you must COMMIT no later than class time on Monday.

Some Details include:
A short story of 500 words. You choose the topic. Use your imagination and create a story that includes descriptive settings, colorful characters, dialogue, conflict and solutions. Perhaps you want to write a story about dragons or a day in the country, or a day in the city. Maybe you like mysteries, or adventure, or travel. Use your imagination and write about what interests you. Your story will be judged on spelling, grammar and sentence structure, as well as plot, dialogue, conflict and solutions.


Those that commit will be given the specific entry details (what details to include on cover sheet, etc.)

Submissions must be sent no later than MAY 1st.

THIS WILL BE CONSIDERED a BONUS.

Monday 4-13-15 ... Start of the 4th Quarter

Today in class we wrote down due dates on the calendar for the 4th Quarter.
We completed and corrected Vocabulary Lesson 12 Synonyms and Antonyms - Friday Vocab Quiz 11-12

We started a discussion about Frankenstein: What it means to be HUMAN. We will connect this conversation and the novel to the UN Declaration of Universal Human Rights Document.

Group Presentations will begin with TWO Groups going tomorrow.

Today in class we started with time to work with our Frankenstein Group Mates on our Group Project. Papers were returned and we discussed a VTS.

The quiz on vocabulary 10-11 was give the last 30 minutes. An Upfront Magazine was given for after the quiz.
