Monday 2-27-17

Today the LAST Vocabulary Story will be turned in at the start of class ... small steps toward becoming a JUNIOR!

We will complete and correct Vocabulary Book LESSONS 12 and 13 CHOOSING the RIGHT WORD 1-10

We will discuss confusion from MACBETH discussion...ALCOHOL was not a major player in the story. Analysis of Guards/Porter + Lady Macbeth and Macbeth Ambition.

If time...otherwise Tuesday: We will discuss the Macbeth chart that was started in class last week and homework...Fate vs Free Will

We will finish the Upfront from yesterday and then discuss MACBETH in the time that remains.

What is not covered today will be covered tomorrow

We concluded the short story discussion with TONE, MOOD, and THEME in: "Interlopers" and "One Friday Morning"

Block 1 finished discussion
Block 3 will finish THEME One Friday Morning on Block Day
Blocks 4-5-6 will finish One Friday Morning Block Day

We started class by completing and correcting VOCABULARY BOOK pages 135 and 145

We then discussed turning TOPICS into THEME statements ("The Scarlet Ibis" and "The Watch" today)

The author tells us that... create your statement ... theme is statement without words THE AUTHOR TELLS US THAT

HOMEWORK:
