In class we discussed Propaganda, Antisemitism and the concept of Indoctrinating the Youth. We related these topics to our next literature selection...Brave New World...written and published in the 1930s.
We read a selection from Salvaged Pages - a 14 year old boy named Klaus Langer. His diary entry about life after Kristallnacht (73 years ago today).
Homework: Due Monday 11-14-11
Read the diary of Petr Ginz. Pay attention to what his focus was on in Terezin Ghetto that helped him find a reason to survive. We'll discuss that as well as the people that Helped Primo Levi find the will/keep the will to survive while in Auschwitz.
