Complete and Correct Vocabulary Lesson 9 Completing the Sentences - ALL

SAT Prep Book .... Reading Exercise 2 ... Active read as a class ... complete and correct assignment. 

Grammar Book Complete and Correct pages: 192-193 Active/Passive Voice and 194-195 Comparatives/Superlatives. 

Read Upfront Magazine article: :”Are We Winning the War Against ISIS”. Underline thesis/support as well as discern whether ETHOS/LOGOS/PATHOS was used in the article. 

Read the debate and complete WS related to the debate.

Vocabulary Quiz Lesson 9
After the quiz, read the WSJ article assigned to your block. Annotate for Thesis/Support + Ethos/Pathos/Logos

Two question Brave New World Short Answer Quiz will start our Group Project.

Teams will be announced and work time will be given for the rest of the class period. Students will need to arrange time with peers to complete the work outside class time.

Sorry for the late Monday Post ... adding an EARLY Tuesday Post ...

  1. Monday we started by discussing upcoming assignments prior to Thanksgiving. Today's class marks 25 school days till Final Exams.
  2. We corrected the Grammar pages assigned to be completed after the Vocabulary Quiz on Friday ... 187-189
  3. We read the Upfront Article about Mining Cobalt and noted THESIS and Support. We discussed connection between this activity and Semester 2 Writing Exam.
  4. Papers were returned

Tuesday:
  • Students are to come to class with a hard copy of PAPER 2 rough draft (+RUBRIC) they uploaded Monday night to turnitin.com via Canvas. We will have a writers workshop in class.
  • Remaining papers will be passed back

HOMEWORK:
  • BNW Quiz #1 on Block Day
  • Read instructions for Group Project - Work Day in the library after the quiz.

I will be out of class on Friday and return Monday. I will not have internet access most of the time I am gone.
