Poem #3 was turned in and a discussion of how Frankenstein described the creature and the Tone/Mood created at the start of CHAPTER 5 was discussed.

Tuesday the Outside Reading was turned in ... uploaded the night before.

We discussed Frankenstein as a NESTED NARRATIVE/FRAMED NARRATIVE ... a story within a story within a story

We discussed the  book as an analogy to GOD/ADAM and Creation as well as a "feminist feat" as it may parallel the author's loss of her mother at a young age (the role of the female figure in the family/lack of her presence in novel). We mentioned the "modern Prometheus Myth" analogy as well.

We discussed ROMANTICISM and ROMANTIC QUEST
We found the passage in the text that explains Walton's Quest

Discussion of Victor's childhood, Elizabeth's arrival in the family home, and Victor's romantic quest
Discussion of Creature .... creation and physical presence

Week of April 10th

This week we have THREE days of the same schedule...no "shortened days" as far as I know when I write this post.

The Writing Exam must be completed by the end of class time on Wednesday.

AFTER BREAK...the day we return the Required Outside Reading Assignment is due  and the Friday of that week Poem #3 is due.

AFTER BREAK...we will focus on Frankenstein and Poetry and our Research Project

REMINDER...all Exam Details and long term due dates for the rest of the semester will be posted before Easter.

BLOCK DAY ... rubric will be explained prior to rough draft starting
