School Play - The Tempest - Bonus

The play will be held four days next week. If you wish a bonus, please attend ONE performance, print out this blog post and staple your ticket to the blog post.

Come to room 322 TUESDAY 3-17-15 BEFORE SCHOOL (7 AM) for an assignment. Bring this paper, the ticket stapled to it, and a picture of yourself at the play.

If you are IN the play...bring this blog post and a picture of yourself in costume OR with other members of the crew on set either before or after the play.

Stage of Life - February Bonus - due by 2-25-15

If you wish to participate in this month's Stage of Life bonus, you need to follow the guidelines established by Stage of Life PLUS:

After the last word put your word count in parenthesis (must be 400-500 words).
Email me a copy of your submission (in body of an email to me)
Forward to me the receipt that Stage of Life sends you.

Semester Two Bonus Opportunites

As I learn about opportunities I will share them with you. Warwick's bookstore in La Jolla is well-known in the literary community as the OLDEST Family Owned book store in the USA. They hose Author's from time to time for book talks and book signings. If you attend an event at the book store to meet an author, please have your picture taken with the author and print out this blog and have an employee sign to say that you were there. If you purchase a book, you can always have the author autograph it as well.

January 26th Naomi Benaron will be at Warwick's for a book reading and signing. Her new release is titled Running the Rift and is about young athletes who dream of becoming Olympians...set in Rwanda at the time of the Rwanda Genocide. Read information about the book on Goodreads.

IF you wish to participate. Write your entry and complete the necessary paperwork (registration forms, etc). Bring to school by 2-22-12 for me to read and mail out before the deadline.

The second is titled: 2012 Moral Courage Essay Contest
Write an essay the fulfills the deadline and bring to me with all relevant paperwork by 2-27-12. I will review the assignment and mail out prior to the deadline.

The BONUS will be applied to the PAPERS category.

Bonus Opportunity STARTS the first week of February

Cross Country Connections Blogging About Books will begin the first week of February. To be eligible for the BONUS for the second semester you need to comment on 90% of the posts during the second semester...and the comments need to be made within 7 days of the post.

The Diary of Anne Frank is playing in Chula Vista

at the OnStage Playhouse now through SUNDAY DECEMBER 4th. Mr. Haggerty just informed me about the play...he was told it was superb!

I you attend the play and want a bonus you must: get a playbill, your ticket, take notes after the show and bring in everything on Monday. I'll give you an assignment that you can return for your BONUS...applied to the HOLOCAUST TEST SECTION OF THE GRADEBOOK.
